An Astonishing Mobilization of the Island

07 May 2012

The 2012 Catlin End-to-End was a success in what the Bermuda Sun calls "an astonishing mobilization of the island."  More than 2,600 people walked, rode, swam, and rowed the length of Bermuda to raise funds for local charities.

Pledging continues for several weeks (both online or dropoff at the Catlin offices in the Washington House building at 18 Church Street) before we can announce the final tally that will be funded to the 2012 recipients:  Age Concern, The Adult Education Centre, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Open Airways, The Family Centre, St. John Ambulance, and YouthNet.

De Agony of De Feet

03 May 2012

Back in 1996, well known Bermudian calypsonian Gene Steede penned a song celebrating the personal challenges and triumphs of walking the End-to-End.  For those who have slogged those weary miles, you'll recognise the joys of reaching Dockyard with "de agony of de feet".
