Catlin End-to-End raises record $300,000 for Bermuda Charities

Another great year!

Despite cloudy skies, blustery winds and high waves, 2,500 entrants to the May 3 Catlin End-to-End raised more than $300,000 to give to Bermuda charities this year – a record for the 21 years of the island-wide event.

"This was truly the benchmark year for our event," said End-to-End chair Anne Mello.
"This event saw 2,500 incredibly dedicated participants move by land and by sea -- intrepid swimmers included -- across the island. There were a dozen cheering and feeding stations to keep them moving, smiling marshals to shepherd them across the tricky bits, countless welcomes and entertainment at the finish line, amazing giveaways before, during and after – and record pledges to distribute."

"It truly reflects the best of Bermuda – and it just does not get better than that."

This year, the event re-branded with a new title sponsor, Catlin Group Limited. The event’s traditional name sponsors, Bank of Bermuda Foundation and M3 Wireless, along with numerous other corporate sponsors, also remained in support.

"The sponsorships underwrite the cost of planning the event – and an event of this scale takes considerable time, effort and money to achieve," said Mrs. Mello. "On the day of the event, we also have a force of about 500 companies and individuals – most of them volunteers -- who act as support, and ensure it runs smoothly."

This year’s event supports six Bermuda charities:

The Catlin End-to-End event is organised by the Bermuda End-to-End charitable trust, and is supported by numerous local sponsors and more than 2,500 individual participants. The Catlin End-to-End’s mission is to be Bermuda’s premier annual charitable pledge event, committed to promoting the happiness and well-being of our Island community through all-inclusive activities.
