Civil Service Takes Part in End-to-End
The Bermuda Sun reports that the head of the Bermuda Government civil service, Kenneth Dill, is encouraging all civil servants to participate in this year's Catlin End-to-End charity event.
Mr. Dill said, "I have issued a challenge throughout the Civil Service for staff members to participate in this year's Catlin End-to-End event. I see it as an excellent opportunity to encourage the concept of wellness within the Civil Service, and indeed throughout the community."
"Participation in this event is also an opportunity for everyone working within the Civil Service to give back to the community, by raising money for various charities and to show that walking, rowing or riding is a fun activity in which we all can participate."
The charities to benefit from the event include The Adult Education Centre, The Chewstick Foundation, The Family Centre, Greenrock, Sandy's 360 Foundation and Windreach.
Mr. Dill stressed the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.
He added: "We all know the long-term benefits of healthy living, which leads to lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol, decreased heart disease and more energy. Participating in the Catlin End-to-End is a great opportunity for me to lead by example. Whether participants choose the end to end, middle to end, Somerset to Dockyard, to row or ride, I invite my colleagues to join me."
The Civil Service's slogan for the event is "Wellness 2010 Begins with End-to-End".
