End-to-End Forms Partnership with Channel Islands Walks

The Itex Around The Island Walk is one of the largest fund raising events in Jersey. Now in it’s 19th year, the walk has raised over £1,416,578 for local charities and a massive 13,000 walkers have clocked up almost 480,000 miles.

The walk starts at 3am from the Elizabeth Terminal at the Harbor, and hugs the entire coastline of Jersey - a total of 48.1 miles The 2010 Jersey walk will take place on Saturday 19th of June and additional information can be found on www.itexwalk.je

The Itex Rotary Walk also Guernsey element to it. This Walk takes place on Saturday 5th June. This is a 40 miles walk that encompasses the coastal and cliff paths of Guernsey. Further information on this walk can be found on www.itexwalk.gg

Richard Parker, former resident of Bermuda and organizer of the two walks said;

“The Itex-Rotary Trust organizes annual around island walks in both Jersey and Guernsey and we are delighted to be associated with the Catlin Bermuda End-to-End Walk. Like the Bermuda event, our walks are about raising money for local causes whilst promoting healthy activity and community spirit. We extend an open invitation to our friends in Bermuda to take part in one of the Channel Islands Walks or even complete the treble! You can be assured of a warm welcome and a memorable experience”.

Anne Mello, Chairman of the Catlin End-to-End had this to say about the new formed partnership;

"We welcome the opportunity to begin a connection with the Itex-Rotary Trust charity walks on our sister islands of Jersey and Guernsey. Through the formation of this relationship, our Bermuda participants will now have the opportunity to experience a walking adventure on the beautiful Channel Islands as well as on our own special home in the Atlantic. I believe that many of our walkers will take up the challenge of completing all three walks in the years to come and we want to extend a warm Bermuda welcome to any and all Itex-Rotary Trust participants who would like to join us one day soon."
