End-to-End honours its longtime supporters

Thanks to Valerie Dill, Ian Boatman, and Brian Hall
Bermuda End-to-End today set the stage for its 20th year by announcing its key corporate sponsors, and giving special recognition to three individuals who have made significant contributions to the event over the course of its existence.
“As we gear up to celebrate our 20th event, which is scheduled for May 5, 2007, we find ourselves indebted to so many generous individuals and organizations for their ongoing support,” said End-to-End Chair Anne Mello.
“As Bermuda’s leading charity which supports other charities, we rely on the dedicated participants who take part in the event, as well as those who stay in the background, giving their time, organizational skills and financial backing to ensure its success,” she added.
“We are very grateful to once again have The Bank of Bermuda Foundation and M3 Wireless as our major sponsors for the 2007 event. We also wish to offer formal recognition to some of the many individuals who have contributed to the success of this event over the years by creating a roll of Honorary End-to-Enders.”
The first three recipients of this honour are Mrs. Valerie Dill, Mr. Ian Boatman, and Mr. Brian Hall, who received plaques at a public ceremony held today.
Also present at the ceremony were representatives from The Bank of Bermuda Foundation and M3 Wireless.
"M3 Wireless takes its commitment to the Bermuda End-to-End event very seriously as reflected by our patronage for the past 8 years, “ said M3 Wireless Chief Executive Officer Lloyd Fray. “ It provides us with a unique way of endowing so many worthy Bermudian charities that we could not reach in any other way."
"To think that a charitable event has had the longstanding appeal to attract this community to generously give in so many ways and with such commitment is a testimony to the giving spirit of Bermuda. M3 Wireless looks forward to an exciting 9th year of participation in this event and challenges its customers and Bermuda at large to make the 20th anniversary of the Bermuda End to End a record for participation and fund raising," he added.
"Bank of Bermuda Foundation is delighted to once again sponsor the 20th annual Bermuda End to End," said David Lang, Director and Secretary of the Foundation.
"Not only does this event bring together a large cross section of the community, but the funds raised benefit a range of charities. Last year’s Youth Invasion was particularly successful in attracting younger participants and we are pleased this is continuing this year. The Foundation is committed to supporting charitable initiatives in Bermuda and we will continue to support and encourage our young people to get involved in their community and to learn and appreciate the aspects of charitable giving, healthy lifestyles and teamwork," he added.
"The Bermuda End to End combines all these elements in a fun atmosphere in which everyone can get involved. I hope that even more people are encouraged this year on the 20th anniversary to pull out their walking shoes and get active for the health of Bermuda as a community."
