End-to-End Supports 2009 Live Healthy Bermuda Kids Challenge
The Bermuda End-to-End Charitable Trust today announces that it has pledged funds to allow the children of Bermuda free participation in the 2009 Live Healthy Kids – a new part of the Bermuda 100-Day Challenge.
"Everyone behind the Catlin End-to-End event believes in health for the entire community," says Bermuda End-to-End chairman Anne Mello. "Our donation of $15,000 to this programme was made because we believe children’s health and fitness is important, and Live Healthy Kids is a wonderful way to encourage this."
The Live Healthy Bermuda Kids Challenge is a new initiative by Live Healthy Bermuda and the Bermuda 100-Day Challenge. It will commence on February 1, 2009, and will finish on the same day as the Catlin End-to-End event on May 2, 2009.
"We wanted to remove as many barriers as possible for kids to sign up for this great event. With a tremendous donation from the Bermuda End-to-End charity, we will be able to offer participation to any child free of charge,” says Terry Faulkenberry, President of the Live Healthy Bermuda Foundation. “The Bermuda End-to-End is providing the funding necessary to build the website and provide the web hosting for 2009 – which has really made the programme possible."
Teams of children will be organised through school and other groups. An adult team captain forms a team of five to 30 members, such as a school classes, school clubs, church groups or other youth organisations. Children of any age from preschool through to high school may participate. For more information, please email info@livehealthybermuda.org.
The Catlin End-to-End event is organised by the Bermuda End-to-End Charitable Trust, and is supported by numerous local sponsors and more than 2,500 individual participants. The Catlin End-to-End’s mission is to be Bermuda’s premier annual charitable pledge event, committed to promoting the happiness and well-being of our Island community through all-inclusive activities.
