Rowers for the End-to-End

Somewhat faster than walking!

According to Michael Swain, President of the Bermuda Rowing Association

The Bermuda Rowing Association has been supporting the End-to-End since we were formed in 2004. Our first year saw our one and only two-person boat rowing from Shelley Bay to Dockyard, in approx 35 minutes. Now we have four four-person crews taking part, from White's Island to Dockyard and then returning.

We pray for flat conditions as our boats only have 3 inches of freeboard but they cut through the wake beautifully. The 44ft boats weigh just over 100lbs each so the End to End voyage is very enjoyable, especially with experienced crews. This year we have a full range of rowers taking part, from our juniors to our "Pacemakers" (ladies of a certain age who delight in a fun sport, and chatting, in beautiful waters).
