Warm up for the End-to-End cycle on April 25th
The BBA (Bermuda Bicycle Association) are arranging a ‘warm up’ ride focused at cycle riders who need a trial run out before the main event on 1st of May. You do not need to be a member of the BBA to participate.
This is not a race and participants are urged to take caution on the ride and obey all rules of the road (stop at stop signs etc.). You must wear a helmet.
The ‘warm up’ ride will be held on Sunday April 25th at 10am starting at the Bermuda College. It will consist of a loop going past Paget Post Office along Middle Road up to Barnes Corner and back along South Shore Road. Distance is approx 12 miles. There is one steep hill close to the end of this ride by Elbow Beach.
There will be marshals by Paget Post office and Barnes Corner as well as some water at the start/finish area but otherwise this is not a formally organized event so cyclists should come prepared with their own water bottle, a bike helmet, and a bike in good working order. There will not be any repair service provided although there may be a spare pump at the start in case tires are low.
This event is not recommended for young children but older children 10 -13 years old are welcome with an accompanying adult rider. Supervision of young teenagers is at the discretion of parents.
Anyone who participates signifies that they will wear a helmet and are holding the BBA and the organizers of the ETE harmless for any accidents or injuries that may be incurred during this event.
Stephen Dean is the facilitator of this informal ride and any questions may be directed to him at steve@kitson.bm.
NOTE: PLEASE WEAR HELMETS! The BBA have obtained a 10% discount on a new helmet for any End-to-End cyclist during the month of April 2010 from the following stores:
Winners Edge on Front Street
Bicycle Works on Tumkins Lane
